Boris Blanco, its director, presented the results of the 58e edition of the La Chaise-Dieu music festival. Two figures were highlighted: the eleven days of concerts and the 23,000 spectators, or 1,000 more compared to the previous edition.
Some 18,000 music lovers attended the 33 paid concerts and there were 5,000 of the free access offerings.
Next season revealed in April
Twenty-five concerts took place at La Chaise-Dieu. There was sacred music, opera but also jazz and chamber music. This edition coincides with the centenary of the disappearance of Gabriel Fauré, several concerts have been dedicated to him. The symphony concerts still remain the hallmark of the Casadean festival.
The eight concerts relocated to Puy-en-Velay, Marlhes (Loire), Ambert (Puy-de-Dôme), Saint-Paulien, Lavaudieu, Brioude and Montbrison (Loire) also enjoyed success in different locations and sectors.
The program for the 59th edition of the La Chaise-Dieu festival will be revealed on April 7.
