SWIMMING: More than 100 young swimmers at the Montchanin Swimming meeting

More than a hundred swimmers from the Avenir and Benjamin categories met in Montchanin last Sunday for the traditional club meeting. Five clubs (Mâcon, Chalon sur Saône, Montceau, Le Creusot and Montchanin Natation) and two departmental selections (Saône et Loire, Nièvre) competed throughout the day in 5 individual races and 2 relays.

Montchanin Natation had hired 11 swimmers (7 with the club and 4 under the department banner). In terms of results, a great day for all the swimmers with very good performances. Note the good times of Paul Frizot in the 100m 4n (1’29″64), Laura Jordan in the 50m freestyle (41″99), Lucie Jacob in the 50m butterfly (49″43) and Klara Thomas in the 50m freestyle (41″18), which allows the 3 girls to join their comrades already qualified for the Bourgogne Franche-Comté league championship.

On the podium side, Max Richard reached the highest step of the podium 3 times (50m backstroke, 50m freestyle, 100m 4n), Paul won the 50m breaststroke and finished 2nd in the 100m 4n. Laura Jordan finished 1st in 2014 in the 50m freestyle. Nathan Chauvy finished 1st Avenir in the 50m breaststroke, 3rd in the 50m butterfly and 100m 4n. Eden Desbois took second place in the 50m breaststroke Avenir. Finally, the relay composed of Max, Yannaël, Paul and Klara won the 4x50m 4n.

Next competition on June 29 and 30 in Montceau les Mines for the Avenir and Benjamin regional championships with 9 qualified swimmers.
