Tour de France: route and favourites for the 4th stage

After 3 days in Italy, the Tour de France is back in France this Tuesday for the 4th stage. Running between Pinerolo and Valloire over a distance of only 139 kilometres, this stage promises to be difficult once again.

Indeed, there are no 3 climbs on the program for today, including the climb of Sestriere and the climb of the famous Galibier. Climbs that culminate at more than 2,000 meters above sea level. To this, we must also add the Col de Montgenèvre, which will increase the general difficulty of this 4th stage.

For the runners, also watch out for the change in weather conditions, because only 15 degrees are forecast at the finish in Valloire and just 9 degrees at the top of the Col du Galibier. A far cry from the feeling of around 40 during the Grand Départ in Florence.

Favorites :

3*: Jonas Vingegaard, Tadej Pogacar

2* : Richard Carapaz, Primoz Roglic, Carlos Rodriguez

1* : Egan Bernal, Remco Evenepoel, Simon Yates, Giulio Ciccone

Expected arrival: 17 hours

La retransmission TV : live on France TV and Eurosport
