They did not make the trip to Saint Nazaire for nothing.

THE Piranhas were present with a strong delegation at the national aquathlon semi-final and the results were more than positive.

As with the duathlon, the Dieppe club will be well represented at the French youth championships.

There will be nine of them defending the colours of the Piranhas in Dole, in the Jura, on July 6.

The technical managers of the Piranhas club Charlotte and Martin Gauchet have a smile.

Even if the results remained satisfactory, this season marks the return to the forefront of the Dieppe club, particularly among young people.

The training policy is still bearing fruit and after cross-country and duathlon, it is in aquathlon that the Piranhas compete with the national elite.

The youngest children set the tone

Saint-Nazaire therefore hosted the penultimate meeting of the aquathlon season with the qualifying semi-final for the French youth championships.

Qualifying and this should also be highlighted for the youngest (boys and girls) and it is the only discipline in this case unlike duathlon and triathlon.

It was the youngest who were the first to take the plunge and set an example.

So Paul Pellerin gets a nice 9e place while his friends Hugo Laboulais and Maël Lefrançois rank respectively 14e et 28e.

Thanks to these results, the first two are qualified for the French championships while the team climbs to the third step of the interregional podium.

On the women’s side, the two Piranhas were in their first year among the youngest.

The services are more than adequate.

Anaë Alim-Paris and Apolline Dos Santos finish 25th respectivelye et 27e.

The juniors practically experienced the same scenario with two new national qualifications for the boys while the only female entered in this category was further behind.

This is Maria Lessard who ran a regular race which she finished at 20e rang.

Among the men, the two qualifiers are Gaspard Ziegler and Quentin Robart respectively 8e et 12e.

Behind, we find Lucas Laboulais 20eValentin Dubost 42e and Pierre Fouquay-Flévin 58e.

Lucas Ziegler on the individual podium

Great satisfaction also for the Piranhas with theexcellent individual third place for Lucas Ziegler.

He is logically qualified for the national meeting where he will perhaps have his say, just like Noé Curschellas who finished 19th.

The last tickets for Dole were obtained by juniors.

First Lilou Gamelin 12e among the women, but also by Louis Crevier 14e et Sacha Falk.

The latter could have missed qualifying by a second, but he was selected and will go to the Jura.

Less luck for Tom Delpech and Mathieu Goujon, respectively 38e et 39e whose journey ends at this stage of the competition.

They will therefore be nine to defend the colors of the Piranhas on Saturday July 6 in Dole during the French youth aquathlon championships.

Note that two of them, namely cadet Lucas Ziegler and junior Lilou Gamelin, will remain in the Jura the next day.

They were selected for the Normandy selection competing in the French league championships.
