Sunday November 17, Pierre and Bernadette Després were gathered with their entire family to celebrate their 65 years of marriage, has Bais (Ille-et-Vilaine).
Pierre, 94 years old, managed the farm with the help of his mother from the age of eight and Bernadette, 86 ans, left Bais at the age of 11 to work for her brother in Yonne then was employed on a farm in Étrelles.
Meeting in 1957
The couple meeting in 1957 while serving at a friends wedding. Two years later, they got married in the town of Étrelles.
After the marriage, they settled on the Nuillé farm, in Domalain, that Bernadette will manage. Her husband Pierre becomes delivery driver then driver in the school transport at the end of his career.
Five daughters, 15 grandchildren
He also served two terms as municipal councilor in Domalain. They thus took their retirements in 1995 in Bais. From this union were born five girls : Pierrette, Marylène, Rachel, Chrystèle and Corinne.
It is in the company of their friends that they participate in the musette ball, card games, shuffleboard to occupy their day. They also benefit from their 15 grandchildrenet seven great-grandchildren.
