torrential rains, violent winds… A new disturbance will hit this Sunday

After the cold wave brought by the Caetano storm which crossed , a new storm is approaching the French coasts.

A new storm hits France. After Caetano and its winter cold snap, it is now storm Bert, straight from the United Kingdom, which is expected to sweep through the national territory this Sunday, reported La Chaîne Météo.

Thus, strong winds are expected over almost the entire territory, as evidenced by the 63 departments on yellow alert for Sunday. The Pyrénées-Atlantiques are particularly affected, with an orange alert for “strong winds”.

The department is affected by the passage of depression Bert, causing gusts of up to 120km/h, particularly on the Basque Coast. These winds are expected to last until Monday.

The Channel coasts will also be swept by gusts of more than 100km/h this Sunday. The most exposed capes and coasts of Finistère and northern Cotentin will see powerful winds of up to 120km/h blow all day.

The disturbance is expected to move towards the center of France on Monday, with a wind still quite powerful in the northwest and southwest. Stormy rain is also expected.
