Inmates of the Tangier 2 local prison benefited, this weekend, from the services of a multidisciplinary medical caravan aimed at bringing health services closer to this category of society.

The caravan, organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the reintegration of prisoners in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region, under the slogan “Strengthening the health provision, an essential entry point for reintegration”, targets around 300 inmates of the local Tangier 2 prison, in the specialties of cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, diabetology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, ophthalmology, ENT, neurology, urology and rheumatology .

According to the regional coordinator of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the reintegration of detainees in Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, Mohamed El Mkadmi, this humanitarian initiative, organized in partnership with the provincial delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the Center university hospital (CHU), the Tangier 2 association and the Al Rahma feminine association, covers 10 medical specialties.

More than 300 prisoners are expected to benefit from this caravan in various specialties, such as dermatology, pulmonology, cardiology and vascular surgery, he noted, noting that the necessary medicines and equipment have been provided, in order to ensure the success of this medical initiative.

Please note that all cases requiring intervention will be taken care of and monitored.
