Initialed by the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaidthe president of the Moulay Ali Cherif Al Mourrakochi Foundation, My Slama Alaouiand by the president of theUCA, Belaid Bougadirthis agreement sets itself the objective of strengthening cooperation and partnership, able to benefit from the capacities and expertise available to all the signatory parties.

It is also about exploiting these capacities and expertise to serve and promote the Moroccan cultural and historical heritagewith a view to contributing to the scientific, technical, professional, economic and cultural development of the Nation, through the promotion of Moroccan cultural heritage and the contribution to the influence of its ancestral values. This agreement also aims to allow the signatory parties to contribute to the management of this center.

Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Bensaid indicated that the safeguarding and defense of tangible and intangible heritage require collective involvement and sustained effort, emphasizing the importance of acting according to the concept of “culture for development”.

He recalled the important roles played by civil society through the launch of several initiatives, as well as the university through the promotion of Scientific Researchfor the preservation of tangible and intangible heritage.

The city of Marrakech has a dynamic civil society which has largely contributed to the launch of a certain number of initiatives during this year where the Ochre City is celebrated as the capital of culture in the islamic worldMr. Bensaid said happily.

“This convention is part of this framework, given that it aims to defend and safeguard our tangible and intangible heritage,” he concluded.

In a statement to MAP, the president of the Moulay Ali Cherif Al Mourrakochi Foundation, My Slama Alaoui, estimated that “the signing of this tripartite agreement constitutes an opportunity to revive the spirit of our authentic Moroccan heritage“.

“This convention represents a real start, drawing on the origins and figures of this country, who are models through their achievements and who embody and consecrate tangible and intangible heritage in all its aspects,” he added.

In a similar statement, Mr. Bougadir said that the safeguarding and revival of tangible and intangible cultural heritage enjoys great attention from teacher-researchers of LANGUAGES and social science within this university.

And to conclude that the UCA has worked to create several sectors linked to the preservation of heritage, while ensuring to train a certain number of graduates, who work in this field, in order to preserve the rich national ancestral heritage.
