Corsica and the South of France will once again dance to the rhythm of Dissidanse Itinérance. From July 1st to 17th, the dance festival returns for a seventh edition, in the cities of Porto-Vecchio, Ajaccio, Bastia and Marignane (Bouches-du-Rhône). The companies and artists will invest throughout the event, the emblematic places of the island, like the Cour du Palais Fesh in Ajaccio, or the Place d’Armes in Bastia. But not only that, since they will also deploy their talent outside the walls, in the open-air theaters and public spaces, in order to be part of their spirit of itinerancy. They will offer exclusively free creations – thanks to the support of the Collectivité de Corse, the DRAC de Corse, and the island cities. The goal? To “to introduce dance to as many people as possible, to locals, but also to tourists”.

“We have chosen scenes that allow us to be as close as possible to the audience”, explains Frédéric Antomarchi, production manager of the festival, which works for “the promotion of contemporary dance”. Through this festival, the organizers intend in particular “place Corsica in connection with Mediterranean companies”. Island dancers such as the Vialuni company (Ajaccio), and the artist Marien Mazzoni will then cohabit with performers from Italy, represented in particular by the Roman company Twain, from Morocco with the dancer Othman Sellami (Rabat) and from the Canaries. On a larger scale, the event is also built on partnerships with dancers from Togo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and the United States.
Thus, artists from all walks of life will have the mission of introducing many movements of contemporary dance to both novice and experienced spectators. With a common thread, that of embodying diversity, tolerance and freedom of expression.
