The Children’s Castle is back this Sunday June 30, 2024, in the exceptional setting of the Bénouville castle, near Caen (Calvados). This 7th edition of the eventwhich traditionally welcomes more than 10,000 peoplewill be the last before the castle doors close for work.

80 free events and workshops

On this occasion, the Department of Calvados will have the joy of welcoming children under 10 years old and their parents free of charge to a day of “awakening and adventure, discoveries and initiations, entertainment, shows and games”.

After the passage of the Olympic flame in Caen and a few weeks before the opening of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, This day will highlight the values ​​of sharing sporting activities.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., more than 80 free activities and workshops will be on the program in the 15 villages set up by the Department’s agents and partners.

A very “Olympic” program

  • Olympic villages. Olympic and Paralympic Games such as athletics, archery, boxing, handball, basketball, judo and even disabled sports, but also prehistoric games, Norman games, games of the future and even new Olympic sports such as climbing and BMX.
  • Bike village. Bike repair workshop, awareness of soft mobility, “bike school” tour and finding bike routes.

  • Firefighters’ village. Promotional ambulance, “little firefighter” course, actions that save, firefighters’ shop, adult course for the future firefighter and exhibition of an emergency vehicle.
