This Thursday, storm Caetano crossed the department of Maine-et-Loire. A rapid passage which still caused a lot of damage, particularly to the electrical installations. In total, 9,500 homes found themselves without electricity, report our colleagues at West France. Enedis is currently working on putting the network back into operation.
Gusts reached more than 110 km/h, especially in the southern part of the department, Enedis noted. This violent wind uprooted trees and caused their branches to fly onto high-voltage lines, causing numerous disruptions. The municipalities of Maulévrier, Yzernay, Montrevault-sur-Èvre and Chemillé-en-Anjou are the most impacted, with more than 4,000 households.
Electricity restarted at the end of the day
Enedis deployed around a hundred agents on the ground as soon as the first lulls occurred. Technicians worked until late to check all the lines. Each of them has been checked and cleaned of debris that could cause malfunctions.
As of this morning, the distributor's employees were hard at work restoring power. The latter could have been required to rebuild concrete posts. Enedis promised that everything would be back to normal by the end of this Friday afternoon.
