The suspects were arrested after ambushing men they met on the Coco chat platform, said the Grenoble public prosecutor in a press release this Saturday, June 29. The four young men, who acted in Seyssinet-Pariset (Isère), were indicted and placed under judicial supervision.

A few days after the court closed the dating site Coco.gg, Grenoble public prosecutor Éric Vaillant announced this Saturday that four young men operating in the commune of Seyssinet-Pariset (Isère) were indicted and placed under judicial supervision this Thursday, June 27, for “group violence”.

Launched in 2003, the Coco.gg site was a chat platform on which messages were not moderated. In recent years, several cases of homophobic ambushes and attacks having been committed through this platform have been revealed. In Isère, the case dates back to the end of 2023: in Seyssinet-Pariset, eBetween November 18 and December 4, “a group made up of three to seven criminals sets ambushes” to young men met on the Coco chat platform, specifies the prosecutor.

“LDuring the meetings, the victims, trusting, find themselves facing a gang sometimes armed with knives and are molested then robbed of their property. : cell phones, bank cards and other personal items are taken from the victims.

The investigation, entrusted to the Grenoble research brigade, led to the arrest of in “in the act” one of the suspects “who had just committed a new abuse in a meeting”on the night of December 3 to 4.

Supported by the gendarmes of the autonomous territorial brigade of Seyssinet-Pariset and the digital technology correspondents (C-NTECH) of Pont-de-Claix and Vif, the investigators also arrested three “co-perpetrators or accomplices”at their home, “a little later today”.

A few days later, on December 7, the four accused were “presented to an investigating judge with a view to opening a judicial investigation”for’“iidentify and then call on the rest of the team and record other facts”specifies the prosecutor. In total, eight facts including one attempt are thus brought together.

This Wednesday, June 26, the research brigade, helped by soldiers from the Grenoble surveillance and intervention platoon, arrested “four co-perpetrators or accomplices, two minors aged 17 and two adults aged 18 and 19 respectively”in the capital of the Alps.

The searches carried out by the police revealed “knives”, “mobile phones”, “means of payment” et “what is necessary for the packaging of narcotic products”indicates the prosecution. Presented before the investigating judge on June 27, the four young men were charged and placed under judicial supervision.
