He passed away this Sunday, June 30, after battling illness for many years.

Régis Giordano passed away this Sunday at the age of 52. And with this sad news, the entire city of Sète is in turmoil. “Régis was a kid from Quartier Haut, an accomplished athlete who tried his hand at all the disciplines in the area.”declares Hervé Marquès. “He was also a rugby instructor at Les Vignes de Thau, a jouster, a jet-ski champion… He is a champion who is leaving us. »

An international jet-ski career

A jet ski champion.

A member of the Lance Amicale Sétoise, he was French junior champion in 1989 and then won the French Junior Cup two years later while playing in a Saint-Louis final. He was also a water polo player with the Dauphins de Sète between 1985 and 1990, a member of the Prétoriens (the only American football club in Sète) before turning to motocross. A sport that saw him finish third in the Ligue Endurance championship in 1992 and win the Enduro des Sables in 1994 in the “4-stroke” category. But it was in jet-skiing that he had his finest hours, crowned French arm-jet champion in 1999 and 2001, vice-champion of Europe in rally-raid and fourth in the world. He was also a sports agent in charge of municipal swimming pools.

To his family, Midi Libre presents its sincere condolences.

His funeral will take place this Thursday, July 4, at 9:30 a.m. at the Saint-Louis decanal.
