Rumors: Bertuzzi to choose Blackhawks

29-year-old forward Tyler Bertuzzi will join the Chicago Blackhawks when the free agent market opens at noon Monday, according to information from David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period.

Bertuzzi could sign a four-year deal that would earn him an average of $5.5 million annually.

Bertuzzi played last campaign with the Toronto Maple Leafs, after signing a $5.5 million pact for one season. Bertuzzi amassed 21 goals and 22 assists for a total of 43 points in 80 games.

A second-round pick of the Detroit Red Wings in 2013, Bertuzzi has 113 goals and 261 points in 406 NHL games. He had a career-high 62 points in 68 games in 2021-22 with the Wings.

Trouba submitted his list

With the sixth year of his contract taking effect Monday, New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba has now had his no-movement clause changed to one that allows him to submit a roster of 15 teams where he refuses to ‘be exchanged.

Trouba’s name has fueled rumors recently, as he is still under contract for two years at an average annual salary of $8 million. Darren Dreger reported Monday morning that Trouba’s list had been submitted.

A 30-year-old guard, Trouba had three goals and 19 assists in 69 games last season, his fifth campaign with the Rangers,

In 748 games in the Bettman circuit, he totaled 73 goals and 309 points. He played the first six seasons of his career with the Winnipeg Jets, who drafted him in the first round of the 2012 draft.

Interest in Stolarz

The Florida Panthers, Toronto Maple Leafs and Chicago Blackhawks are all trying to sign goaltender Anthony Stolarz, according to reports from Darren Dreger of TSN.

Stolarz is coming off a one-year, $1.1 million deal and his performances helped the Panthers win the Stanley Cup. Although he only played 35 minutes in the playoffs, Stolarz was a big help this season with 27 games.

Stolarz had a 16-7-2 record, a 2.03 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage.

During his career, the goaltender also wore the colors of the Philadelphia Flyers, Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks. He has a record of 43-31-9 in 109 NHL games.
