In France, the question of TV rights for Ligue 1 is still not resolved. The situation is more than worrying for certain clubs, such as Le Havre.

Who will broadcast Ligue 1 next season? The suspense remains intact. Indeed, while the new season is just around the corner, no agreement between the Professional Football League and a media outlet has been concluded. Some clubs are having great difficulty making their budget. This is the case of Le Havre. Moreover, the Norman club has just seen its payroll regulated after its meeting with the DNCG. The Le Havre president, Jean-Michel Roussier, is not losing his temper. If he understands the sanction, he intends to denounce the recent agreement between CVC and the LFP, while he has still not seen the color of the promised money.

A chaotic situation

In an interview given to The teamJean-Michel Roussier indeed indicated: “It was expected, it’s a logical decision, there’s nothing to say. The DNCG did the job, period. It’s a direct consequence of what we’re going through with the CVC non-regulation. For a year now, I’ve been taking all the actions I can against the League against this CVC story and the way we, Le Havre, have been treated. The DNCG relies on the clubs’ equity to make its decisions. The gap is 32.5 million between what we received and the L1 club that received the least. (…)”. Continuing his momentum, the strong man of HAC also expressed his frustration with the question of TV rights, which has still not been resolved: « TV rights? That’s 50% of the clubs’ budget. We know that we’ll never have amounts equivalent to those of last year. You’d have to be an idiot to think otherwise. So do you really imagine that I could maintain the wage bill at the same level as last year? In the best of all possible worlds, our revenues will drop by 25 to 30%. And I’m still optimistic in saying that. ». Le Havre is now clear in its strategy: do not recruit unless you make sales.. Maintaining it therefore promises to be perilous next season.
