On June 21, the municipality of Belleville-sur-Loire inaugurated the new developments along the canal and the brand new nautical stopover.

A beautiful pergola, benches, tables and even deckchairs. The nautical stopover is green and peaceful. It took four months of work to renovate the edge of the canal and make it more attractive. In the surrounding area, trees, pedestrian paths and light pavement complete the picture.

Today, the surroundings of the canal blend perfectly with the tourist information point and its summer decor with a beach and hut atmosphere.

Coherent arrangements

This strategic choice aims to develop the attractiveness of the area, so that businesses on the Sancerre road and surrounding areas can benefit from the new appeal of this relaxing place. The Café du Canal also participated in the celebration of this inauguration.

“We have nearly 30,000 people passing through our Loire à Vélo sector. Despite the weather, there have never been so many people stopping off in Belleville,” emphasizes the mayor, Bruno Van Der Putten.

The creation of this river development is consistent with the axis with Sury and Léré, which both have a stopover with local services. A “complementarity to make our sector more attractive, where boaters enjoy stopping,” explains the mayor of Belleville.
