Brest. He leaves the court before his sentence to 10 months in prison for drug trafficking

At the Brest court (Finistère), this Friday, June 28, 2024, a man born in 2001 listens to the prosecutor, Isabelle Johanny, requesting a prison sentence, with a committal warrant for drug trafficking and contempt of agents , committed on August 31, 2023, in Brest. But, during the suspension of the hearing, while the court is deliberating, the defendant leaves the premises. He was therefore not taken to prison to serve his ten-month sentence.

The events took place in the Kérangoff district. As part of an anti-drug operation, three police officers were monitoring a drug trafficking ring. Around 3:15 p.m., the defendant, wearing a two-tone hooded coat, shouted an alert and fled the police, throwing a plastic bag. It was a 4.54 g packet of resin.

“I want to remain silent”

It is 3:43 p.m. when his silhouette is seen again, he tries to flee again, in vain. He gets angry when he asks her to reveal his identity, hurls insults and threats: I know where you live, Brest is small. He repeats threats and insults during transport and while in police custody.

The twenty-year-old has been convicted thirteen times for violence against an ascendant and public authority figure. “I want to keep silent”he repeats in court, particularly when questioned about his cannabis consumption.

In addition to his ten-month prison sentence, he will have to pay €500 to each official who was insulted and threatened.
