What a big slap in the face for Bordeaux… Yannick Bru’s men were completely non-existent against a Toulouse team on a showpiece, and on a mission to write their legend.
Matthieu Jalibert was a bit of a surprise guest in this final, with Ben Tameifuna. Both players were out at the start of the week, and finally started this Friday. A choice which did not really pay off, when we look at the performances of the two players. The flyhalf was very dejected at the Canal + microphone after this very heavy defeat.
It’s a nightmare. We knew it was going to be difficult against this Toulouse team but I didn’t think there was such a big gap. Congratulations to the Toulouse team.
(…) It’s hard for the team, I’m disappointed because we made a lot of effort to be there. We came across a team which is much stronger and which deserves this title. It’s a shame for us, I’m disgusted for the group and the supporters who traveled to Marseille.
It’s time for the people of Bordeaux to go on vacation in order to get rid of this big frustration, and to start again even stronger for next season. That’s all we can wish for the Girondins.
