The prefecture has just made a decision. In a prefectural decree dated November 19, the new prefect, Paul Mourier, indicates that he refused the request for environmental authorization, presented by the company CEPE “Grands communaux”, a 100% subsidiary of Q Energy . This company wanted to build a large wind farm with thirteen wind turbines in Antheuil and Saint-Jean-de-Boeuf on the back coast of and .

Consumption of 50,000 inhabitants

The project included the construction of thirteen wind turbines measuring 180 meters at the tip of the blade with a unit power of 4.2MW (megawatt), or the consumption of 50,000 inhabitants. One of the specificities of this project is that it was located in a forest environment and its implementation required the deforestation of 9.96 hectares. Of the thirteen wind turbines planned, twelve would have been installed in the municipal forests of Saint-Jean-de-Bœuf and Antheuil, the thirteenth in a forest belonging to the Forestier Liot et Daviot group. It remains to be seen whether the promoter will challenge the decision in court or not.
