Several chambers of agriculture, including those of Haute-Garonne, Gers, Lot, Tarn and Lozère, were victims of a cyberattack which dates back to November 17, according to information from La Dépêche du Midi. The chambers of agriculture of Gers, Lot, and Haute-Garonne confirmed this Thursday, November 21 that they had been hacked.
In Tarn, the president of the FNSEA, Marie-Line Bruel, confirmed that the network was seriously degraded after an attack by the regional chamber of agriculture in Toulouse. Contacted by The Dispatchthe chambers of Ariège and Nouvelle-Aquitaine have not yet confirmed the information.
Computer systems paralyzed
This data, the nature of which remains to be determined, would have been stolen and encrypted, making it inaccessible and paralyzing the operation of and access to computer systems. A meeting is planned for this Friday, November 22 in Haute-Garonne to take stock of the situation.
A police source adds that the cyberattack would be national in scope, and would concern other chambers of agriculture in the country. In mid-October, the Normandy chambers of agriculture had already been hit by a similar attack, according to The Cauchois Courier.
