RENOVATION AND DIGITALIZATION OF THE NATIONAL ASSEMBLY

The operational phase of the Hemicycle Renovation Project of the National Assembly of Senegal, officially launched on May 17, 2023, was recently completed, reports a press release from the institution.

According to the source, this renovation, which transformed the appearance and functioning of the National Assembly, is an integral part of the Project to Modernize the Means of Communication of the Institution with the Public, a project supported by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

“The process was initiated on February 2, 2023, the date of the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Senegal and KOICA,” the source said.

“This work carried out by a Korean company and two Senegalese companies concerns in particular the reconfiguration of the interior architecture for better distribution of space, the installation of latest generation audio and video communication equipment ensuring the digitalization of procedures. speaking, voting and counting votes, the development of new modern interpretation booths and the deployment of new digital platforms,” underlines the press release.

The communications department of the hemicycle indicates that “These major advances are the result of the desire of President Amadou Mame Diop, upon his installation at the head of the National Assembly of Senegal, to modernize the working environment of the Deputies and to allow better public access to information relating to the organization and parliamentary work.”
