It’s far from a record, but it’s still a great find. On the morning of this Friday, June 28, 2024, the police officers have discovered several dozen fireworks mortars in a building of neighborhood of the White Cross in Vigneux-su-Seine (Essonne).
A discovery made during inspections of common areas
In the photo published by the departmental directorate of public security of Essonne, we see several dozen cardboard tubes loaded with luminous projectiles.
According to our information, they were found in one of the buildings of the Place André Malraux.
“This discovery was made during the daily patrols of the police in the buildings of the district. The agents went around the common areas, rkept in open cellars, ducts, dry columns, etc. », Relates a police source.
Pyrotechnic devices sometimes diverted from their use
This discovery of fireworks mortars did not was not accompanied by arrests.
Although they are more or less accessible over the counter, certain pyrotechnic devices are diverted from their use for several years and used, in particular, to deliberately target law enforcement, their vehicles, and even police stations.
Fireworks mortars can also be used during clashes between rival gangs.
