Three medical imaging devices were stolen in Puy-en-Velay and Yssingeaux, during the night of Wednesday November 20 to Thursday November 21. The Aiguilhe radiology practice suffered an attempt. This journey would have been committed by an organized gang, which would have used three vehicles.
A new wave of burglaries targeting radiology practices has affected Haute-Loire. A break-in was committed at the Henri-Dunant center, which adjoins the Bon Secours clinic in Le Puy. The window in the waiting room, located right next to the front door, was forced open. The two ultrasound machines were stolen.
“These are machines on wheels that are about one meter high.”
Pierre-Yves Deschamps (the director)
The value of each of them is estimated between 50,000 and 60,000 euros.
The burglary was reported to the police who carried out investigations. “They viewed the CCTV footage and told us that the thieves arrived at 4:40 a.m. They took the machines out of the windows of the waiting room and loaded them into three cars.”
The Aiguilhe office, which belongs to the same group, also received a visit from the burglars. But the latter were unable to complete their project without us knowing whether they were disturbed in their action or whether they simply failed in their break-in.
The Cardioparc practice installed in the former Crisselle HLM, rue du Pêcher in Yssingeaux, is also one of the victims. In this building which hosts tertiary activities, “they broke down the entrance doors”, testifies Pierre Liogier, mayor of Yssingeaux. There too, the teams noticed that an ultrasound machine had been stolen. The gendarmerie came to take samples as part of the flagrante delicacy investigation.
In Puy, the management of the Henri-Dunant radiology practice has two priorities: “Cancel the appointments of around a hundred patients on Thursday and as many for Friday, and find replacement machines. We called on the manufacturer and the distribution network Our objective is to return to normal activity on Monday. In the meantime, the two radiologists and the six secretaries find themselves helpless.

This kind of journey is not new. In 2019, an identical wave of burglaries affected the offices of Yssingeaux and Monistrol-sur-Loire. This type of theft seems to respond to “orders” which make it possible to equip practices in Eastern Europe.
