Lewis Hamilton approaches the Austrian Grand Prix with renewed passion and positive energy after his recent performances in Canada and Spain.

Lewis Hamilton has shared his thoughts after reaching the podium at the Spanish Grand Prix, an event which reignited his passion for racing. The British driver turned his third place on the grid into a solid performance, securing his first top 3 since last October in Mexico.

Hamilton, who reached his 198th career podium, will be looking to keep that momentum going in Austria this weekend.

“The feeling in the race was as intense as in my first seasonconfides the seven-time world champion.
It’s nice to experience races like this, where you can really fight and make exciting overtakes.”

“We all need good days like this to remind us that that fire is still there. So the fire is definitely there. We just have to keep fueling it and keeping it burning.”

A boost for Mercedes

With two consecutive podiums, Hamilton admits the Mercedes team has received a significant boost.

“The whole team is fully committed, there is a great energy within the team. We finally know in which direction to work, and the energy in the factory is very high.he insists. I just want to work to continue like this. I don’t want to go too fast and ask for too much. The others are still one step ahead of us.”

Challenges of the sprint format

Hamilton also spoke about the challenges posed by the Sprint format, which gives teams just one hour of free practice on Friday.

“Our car is usually not fast at the start of a weekend, it’s something we always have to adjust and work on. But in Montreal it was fast from Free Practice 1, maybe it was an isolated case. We’ll see tomorrow. But I like Sprint weekends, it doesn’t give you much time to adapt and it’s stimulating!”
