In the 1st constituency of Var, the far right has invested Sébastien Soulé, formerly of Bac Nord in Marseille, to capture the last bastion of the local right. Before aiming for town hall in 2026.

Grand slam objective. Win eight out of eight constituencies in order to pave the way for the capture of Toulon in the 2026 municipal elections. But to achieve this goal, the 1st constituency must be taken down, the one that includes most of the city of Toulon, the only one to have resisted the RN wave in the department in 2022. A part of the local right – allied with Macron since the 2021 regional elections – had resisted, but saw the RN candidate, Amaury Navarranne, getting closer to the Assembly: 46.51% of the vote in the second round, whereas he had not passed the bar in the first round in 2017.

In the European elections, Jordan Bardella came well ahead in the votes of Toulon residents: 36.82% of the votes. The far right totaled almost 46% of the votes cast if we add the score from Marion Maréchal’s list. Building on this position, the RN decided to place a media figure in this Toulon constituency: Sébastien Soulé, former police officer of the Bac Nord de Marseille.
