Ligue 1: Le Havre maintained but monitored by the DNCG!

Suspended following its first meeting on June 12 with the DNCG, Le Havre knows its sanction.

ACalled to provide additional documents to ensure a financial situation within the standards, Le Havre avoided the worst: relegation. Indeed, the DNCG took the decision to regulate the wage bill of the Normandy club. A significant obstacle in their transfer market and their recruitment during this summer transfer window.

In a press release, HAC expressed its discontent and denounced: “An announcement without surprise, a logical consequence of the double punishment inflicted on HAC. Indeed, no one is unaware that HAC is the only Ligue 1 club not to have benefited from the funds negotiated as part of the agreement with CVC, which was intended in particular to consolidate and strengthen the clubs’ equity. The majority shareholder therefore had to replace this scandalous imbalance. Furthermore, as the bad soap opera around TV rights drags on, French football as a whole is weakened, as this revenue represents their main source of income for French clubs in general and for HAC in particular. However, this decision was anticipated by the club’s management, which has been working for several weeks on building a squad, guided by its budgetary situation.”

With a discreet eye on the delicate situation of Le Havre, some Metz supporters entertained a slim and tiny hope of seeing the club from the grenat being drafted. But FC Metz is indeed destined to play in Ligue 2 next season. No miracle.
