The 45-year-old man has been missing since November 3, 2024.
Yann Escande, 45, disappeared while driving his car on Sunday November 3 after leaving his home in Fontrieu in Tarn. Her phone stopped ringing as soon as she left and since then, police, neighbors and villagers had undertaken searches to try to find her.
His phone had stopped pinging
This disappearance could take a tragic turn, with these last hours, with the discovery of a charred body in a car itself set on fire in the heart of the woods of the Monts de Lacaune, between Tarn, Hérault and Aveyron, just a few kilometers from Fontrieu.
“Investigations are underway, including scientific ones, to determine the identity of the deceased,” public prosecutor Elodie Buguel told La Dépêche du Midi. The gendarmes investigating this discovery were hardly forthcoming, but the call for witnesses that the Tarn gendarmerie had launched on social networks concerning the disappearance of the forty-year-old was removed this Wednesday, November 20.
Former rugby player and unemployed, Yann Escande suffers from psychological disorders and had told a few people that he had stopped his drug treatment to treat them.
