Storm Caetano will indeed sweep across France from east to west this Thursday, causing snowfall to the north of its trajectory, from northern Brittany and Normandy to the Grand Est. The wind will blow south of Caetano's trajectory, starting on the Atlantic coast and then shifting to “a Poitou-Charentes/Northern Alps axis”, specifies Météo France.
On the coast, gusts of up to 120km/h are expected, or even up to 130km/h on the “exposed islands and capes”. Inland, they will be able to reach 100 km/h with peaks of 110 km/h “more occasionally”.
“On the terrain, we can reach 110 to 130 km/h on the Massif Central and more than 150 km/h on the highest points of the Alps,” specifies the meteorological institute.
