The governing majority presidency body held a meeting on Wednesday June 26 in Rabat chaired by the heads of the RNI, PAM and Istiqlal. The three parties, which have formed the executive since October 2021, welcomed the “positive government assessment presented (on April 24 by Aziz Akhannouch) before the two Houses of Parliament, despite the crises and constraints that the government had to face. face during this period,” indicate the three groups in a press release.

The body also praised the “cohesion” between its members and “praised the innovative and distinguished government management, based on the effective implementation of the commitments contained in the government program and the rapid and positive interaction with unforeseen issues”.

The leaders of the three parties also emphasized “the central place of local authorities, provincial councils and regional councils in the consecration of the local approach towards citizens”. A passage which comes as the Ministry of the Interior has launched the replacement procedure for Said Naciri and Abdenbi Bioui, respectively president of the Prefectural Council of Casablanca and president of the Council of the Oriental region. The two PAM elected officials are being prosecuted for drug trafficking.

The meeting in Rabat was attended by Aziz Akhannouch and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, from the RNI side; Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri, coordinator of the collegiate management of the PAM general secretariat, and the President of the national council Samir Goudar; and Nizar Baraka, Secretary General of Istiqlal.

The meeting of the government majority body came as Moroccan media reported an “imminent” ministerial reshuffle.
