Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, apples, haskapberries and even tomatoes. There are many opportunities to pick fruit yourself in the region. Here is where you can pick your favorite fruit on Gravité Média territory.

*We advise you to check that the store is open before going there.

Strawberries

It’s usually the strawberry that gets the pick-your-own ball rolling in June. The “traditional” picking season normally stretches until July, but with the emergence of the fall strawberry, some fields offer pick-your-own until October. Nothing beats the taste of a freshly picked Quebec strawberry, assures Stéphanie Forcier, of the Association des producteurs de fraises et framboises du Québec.

Camerises

The haskap berry is a fruit that is gaining popularity. It can be picked in June and July, over a period of about three weeks to a month. “It’s hard to describe. It’s a bit of a mix between blueberry, raspberry, blackcurrant, with a touch of rhubarb. It has a slightly tangy side. You have to taste it, it’s delicious!” assures Nathalie Lacroix, from Petits Fruits St-Louis.

Morello cherries

The Morello cherry is a small fruit that can be picked in mid-July for about two weeks. “Sour and sour”, as the Ferme aux Mille Cailloux describes it, some like to eat it freshly picked, but it is especially excellent for cooking, especially for jams.

Pears

While the opportunities for picking apples are numerous in the region, those for picking pears are not as many.
