As part of a Pedestrian Plan, the Metropolis has spent 28 million euros to secure pathways and rebalance public space.

Renovate sidewalks, securing the surroundings of educational establishments and improving the facilities are the main objectives of this project.

Many municipalities and districts of have benefited from this financial aid, in order to restore walking to a central place in the daily lives of residents.

Recently, the Métropole de Lyon approved a subsidy for the municipality of Marcy-l'Étoile for the creation of a pedestrian link linking the center of the village to Lacroix- park.

This path of approximately one kilometer will connect several key points in the sector, such as the sports complex, the Biomérieux businesses, the school, and will provide direct access to the Lacroix-Laval park.

The construction of this path, with a width of 2.5 meters, is estimated at 2,879,800 euros, with a financial contribution from the Metropolis amounting to 530,585 euros. This new pedestrian space will be enhanced with numerous vegetation, including the planting of 176 trees and 800 young plants.
