NHL Individual Honors Night

Some of the NHL’s greatest players will be honored Thursday evening at a ceremony in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid is one of three finalists for the Hart Trophy as the league’s MVP. He faces Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov and Colorado Avalanche forward Nathan MacKinnon.

Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews will try to get his hands on the Ted Lindsay Trophy, which is awarded to the best NHL player chosen by his peers following a vote by the Players’ Association. If McDavid is not in the finalists, Kucherov and MacKinnon are still in the running.

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes is among the finalists for the James Norris Trophy, as are Roman Josi (Nahville Predators) and Cale Makar (Colorado Avalanche), awarded to the Bettman Tour’s outstanding defenseman.

Winnipeg Jets goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, Canucks Thatcher Demko and Stanley Cup champion Sergei Bobrovsky are finalists for the Vezina Trophy, awarded to the NHL’s top goaltender.

Chicago Blackhawks star Connor Bedard, the first pick in the 2023 NHL draft, will covet the Calder Trophy, awarded to the league’s most outstanding rookie. He is battling with defensemen Brock Faber of the Minnesota Wild, and Luke Hughes of the New Jersey Devils.
