This Wednesday November 20, 2024around 10 a.m., an electricity distribution line 20 000 volts was accidentally cut on a construction site in Wadelincourt. This incident first led to a power cut for 422 homes in several municipalities: Wadelincourt, Noyers-Pont-Maugis, Sedan and Charleville-Mézières.

Six firefighters from Sedan set up a security perimeter while waiting for ENEDIS to arrive on the scene.

A quick return to normal

« He is a contractor who was working on a roof and who removed the casing from a chimney flue and threw it off the roof without paying attention to the power line below », signals to The Ardennes ENEDIS communication.

If initially 422 homes were deprived of electricity, “ because the line supplies several villages », Power was quickly restored to the majority of homes. “ There are still 86 homes that do not have electricity but our team is hard at work to restore it by mid-afternoon », assured ENEDIS communication at the end of the morning.

But things went faster than expected because at 12:30 p.m., the situation was resolved for the last houses in Wadelincourt inconvenienced by this cut.
