Here he is graduated. Pierre Sage announced Thursday that he had obtained his professional football coaching certificate through validation of acquired experience.

Appointed at the start of last December when OL were last in the standings, Sage, 45, did not have the diploma required to manage a team in Ligue 1, Ligue 2 or even National (3rd div.). The Rhone club thus had to pay a fine of 25,000 euros per match for the infraction, which ultimately amounted to 600,000 euros.

Olympique Lyonnais, which is due to resume training on July 5, is expected to announce in the coming days the extension of its coach’s contract for two years. On January 11, OL had already confirmed Sage, still interim coach, until the end of the season.

The OL confirms the departures of Bréchet and Da Fonseca

Originally, Pierre Sage did not meet the conditions for admission to BEPF training but in April, the Federation announced that the technician could go through access to a simplified course with the VAE.

Fourth coach of the Lyon season after Laurent Blanc, Jean-François Vulliez (1 match) and Fabio Grosso, Sage contributed to the rise of the Lyon team from last to 6th place in the ranking, snatched on the last day with as a bonus a qualification for the Europa League and a French Cup final lost to Paris Saint-Germain.

Olympique Lyonnais has also confirmed the departures of the technical management of Jérémie Bréchet, assistant to Pierre Sage and Antonin Da Fonseca, one of the physical trainers. They join Lille.
