The Region grants 1.2 million euros in subsidies to municipalities in the Pays d’Iroise

The Brittany Region grants 1.2 million euros in aid to municipalities attached to the Pays d’Iroise community, over a period of three years, to help carry out projects. An agreement was signed between the partners this Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

The mayors present were unanimous “to recognize the importance of the assistance granted by the Region for the realization of projects which undoubtedly could not have been carried out without it”. For the majority of projects, this aid represents approximately 11% of the planned budget.

Commerce, housing, nursery…

Some examples of achievements which will benefit the agreement: in Brélès, a grocery bar business, a medical center and eight housing units; in Plouarzel, housing for young workers and a coworking room; in Tréouergat, the renovation of a character building which houses the library, a community bar and a multipurpose room; in Plougonvelin, a multi-accommodation crèche; in Locmaria-Plouzané and Porspoder, the energy renovation of two schools; a new school restaurant in Lanrivoaré. Several other projects are also currently being studied or implemented.

Travel, energy renovation and services

“Thanks to this aid we have already been able to set up the cycling plan for the community of municipalities and carry out work in the ports, indicates André Talaramin, president of Pays d’Iroise community. This time we have targeted actions around sustainable development, energy savings and local services. The selected projects were unanimously validated by elected officials from Pays d’Iroise and many are already being implemented. »

The agreement was signed by Laurence Fortin, vice-president of territories, economy and housing at the Brittany Region; André Talarmin, president of Pays d’Iroise community; Émilie Kuchel, elected representative of the territory; and mayors of Pays d’Iroise. The Region wants to offer a better quality of life to Bretons.
