Rhône: Gianfranco Pittari, new medical director of MaaT Pharma
MaaT Pharma (Lyon, Rhône), late-clinical-stage biotechnology company, leader in the development of Microbiome Ecosystem Therapies aimed at improving the survival of cancer patients, has appointed Gianfranco Pittari as medical director. Quoted in a press release, Hervé Affagard, managing director and co-founder of the company, believes that Gianfranco Pittari’s vast experience “in the conduct of clinical studies, from the early stages of development to advanced phases, constitutes a valuable asset for the MaaT Pharma team during this strategic period of growth, as we move closer to the completion of the Phase 3 trial for our most advanced candidate, MaaT013. Gianfranco Pittari holds a doctorate in medicine from the University of Pavia, a specialization in hematology from the University of Parma and a doctorate in immunology from the University of Paris-Sud. He has more than 15 years of international experience in clinical research and the development of drug candidates in hematology, oncology and immunology. He was previously Chief Medical Officer at Autolus, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation T cell therapies to treat cancer and autoimmune diseases.
