See you at the polls on Sunday June 30 and July 7

The legislative elections are organized on Sunday June 30 (first round) and Sunday July 7 (second round). The city of Quimper is hard at work organizing this democratic meeting.

She is also recruiting assessors to man the 50 polling stations: volunteers!

Any citizen aged at least 18 and registered on the electoral roll can vote. It is also possible to vote by proxy.

How is the election organized locally?

The offices will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on June 30. Each polling station is made up of a president (who can appoint a substitute), a secretary and at least two assessors (who can also have a substitute). The presidents are appointed in priority from among the members of the Municipal Council. The secretaries are appointed from among municipal staff; they are voters of the municipality. The assessors are designated by the representatives of the candidate lists and, where applicable, by the Mayor; when they are appointed by the Mayor, they must be voters of the municipality.

The offices are accessible to voters with disabilities; a suitable voting booth is provided in each polling station, the ballot box is lowered to allow people in wheelchairs to vote, various provisions of electoral law can be implemented to allow all voters to vote (example: possibility for a voter who is physically unable to sign the attendance list to ask the voter of their choice to sign in their place…).

Each voter must be in possession of an identity document to be able to vote, the list of accepted identity documents is displayed in each polling station. It is recommended that he also presents his voter card.

For people registered on the electoral lists since the last vote in the legislative elections, European voters registered on the electoral list for the European elections and voters who have reported a change of address in the municipality since the last vote in the legislative elections, the electoral card will be sent by post at the end of May (other voters must present the electoral card they received in 2022).

The results of the election for the city of Quimper will be communicated on Sunday June 9, from 8 p.m., at the Town and Agglomeration Hall, headquarters of the municipality’s central office and will also be available online.

Power of attorney as a solution

Citizens who are prevented from going to their polling station on election day will be able to make a proxy to allow another voter – called a proxy – to vote in their place. The agent may be a voter in another municipality but must vote in the polling station where the principal is registered. The same representative can receive a maximum of two powers of attorney, at least one of which will have been established abroad.

The proxy must be made as early as possible before the vote; only proxies received at the town hall within the time limit allowing the agent to vote by proxy for his or her principal.

A power of attorney can be established:

– on a Cerfa cardboard form n°12668*03, at a police station, gendarmerie, judicial court or French embassy/consulate abroad;

– on a Cerfa form n°14952*03, to be printed online at www.service-public.fr and completed, then validated before the above-mentioned authorities;

– via the system www.maprocuration.gouv.fr, with validation by one of the above-mentioned authorities;

– in an entirely dematerialized manner, via the France Identity application, as long as the user is in possession of an electronic identity card and has had their digital identity certified at the town hall;
