The AFPS Lorraine Sud (Nancy) marched again on Saturday March 23 in the city center of Nancy at the call of around twenty organizations, unions, parties, who responded to the call of the AFPS Lorraine -south.
A mobilization which continues around 400 participants, who braved the violent downpours which punctuated the demonstration. Wind gusts, showers.
As during the previous demonstration, Nancy’s ”white coats for Gaza” were present at the head of the procession and improvised a ”Die In” three times symbolizing the martyrdom of the Palestinian people. Each time they read a moving text, and a minute of silence was held, with great emotion, the tears of some participants were not far away.
The march ended in front of the prefecture, Place Stanislas, the objective of the demonstration.
The prefect of Meurthe et Moselle who was so quick to want to ban the first gatherings in October and November 2023 being much less eager to respond to the request for a meeting with the group; who wanted the government representative to hear the determination and bring it up to the Élysée.
The president (PS) of the departmental council which supports the fight for the freedom of the Palestinian people was present at the start of the demonstration and marched a good part of the route. The PS deputy Dominique Potier having joined in front of the prefecture.
Arriving in front of it, a 10-year-old Palestinian refugee from Gaza with her family created a new emotion by performing a Palestinian song accompanied by her mother whose face bore all the distress of the tragedy experienced and forced exile .
Lots of noise to break the deafening silence of Western governments and the media.
Faced with criminal indifference, the absence of concrete acts to stop the genocide, the massacres, the famine organized by Israel, we organized a concert of pans, drums, sirens under the windows of the prefecture.
