In September 2023, an unusual surge of solidarity took hold of many employees of the Vénètes medical-social center in Vannes. They signed up for the Ultra Marin solidarity challenge. The FED’S team was born! (strength and dynamism).

This Friday, June 28, ten athletes will set off and take turns over the 175 km, day and night, whatever the weather. In total, the medico-social center team has thirty people to make this project a huge boost of mutual aid and solidarity, beyond sporting performances. The common denominators of this solidarity action are Arthur and Liam, two little disabled boys. Arthur, 7 years old, grandsons of Hélène Le Breton from the medical-social center and Liam, 3 years old, son of Coralie Troudet. Arthur suffers from Fanconi disease, a genetic blood disorder. It is supported by the Champion et Cie association. Liam suffers from nemaline myopathy, a dysfunction of the respiratory muscles. It is supported by the L’Aventurier association in Némaline. The state of health of the two boys requires constant and expensive care, expensive alternative therapies must be undertaken, with workshops in Poland and Spain, for Liam. An online fundraiser has been created to help them.
