Ouarzazate – The regional commission for the care of women victims of violence held, Wednesday in Ouarzazate, a meeting which was devoted to the evaluation of the action of the regional unit dedicated to this mission, to the examination of the problems and challenges encountered in this area and in search of solutions.

Initiated under the slogan “All for the protection of women victims of violence”, this meeting was an opportunity to look at the work done by this commission reporting to the constituency of the Court of Appeal of Ouarzazate during this stage and to evaluate the achievements accomplished.

Speaking at this meeting, the Attorney General of the King at the Court of Appeal of Ouarzazate, Mohamed Mounir Idrissi, stressed the interest granted by Morocco, under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to vulnerable categories, in particular women and children victims of violence.

He emphasized the need for active and serious support from all stakeholders in the implementation of the action plan of the regional commission for the care of women victims of violence, noting that this plan aims, in particular, to safeguard the rights and freedoms guaranteed to women and children victims of violence by the Constitution and international charters.

“The Presidency of the Public Ministry is committed to interacting with public policies, as well as to protecting public rights, freedoms, security and order and to moralizing public life,” he affirmed, expressing the determination of the Prosecutor’s Office to protect certain categories of society for particular reasons, especially women and children victims of different forms of violence.

The King’s Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of Ouarzazate recalled, in the same context, the Marrakech declaration on the fight against violence against women, signed on March 8, 2020 under the effective presidency of HRH Princess Lalla Meryem .

He also mentioned the signing of the Territorial Protocol for the care of women victims of violence between the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Development, Equality and Family and the Ministry of Health, as well as another agreement signed with the Ministry of National Education on the activation of the law relating to compulsory basic education.

This meeting was marked by the participation of members of the regional commission for the care of women victims of violence, representatives of the ministerial departments concerned, civil society actors as well as judicial police officers.
