In a recent release, the president of the governing body of Senegalese Football, Me Augustin Senghor, announced that the future coach of the Senegal Lions will be known before the end of the year.
The head of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) made this announcement on Tuesday evening in Diamniadio, following the match won against Burundi. “We don’t change a winning team. But we favor national coaches. We have won our last four matches, which means that the job is well done,” declared Augustin Senghor.

“Pope Thiaw confirmed? The decision will come back to the comex (executive committee) which will meet soon. And by the end of the year, we will have a coach. We want to win the CAN again and Pape Thiaw is one of our choices, we cannot rule him out since he won the CHAN. But I dare to hope that the Comex will make the best choice,” he added.
