The students of the Cerisiers college in Gorgier have barely discovered the silhouette of their new building when those responsible for the façade renovation project are looking into new improvements. The regional school circle Les Cerisiers approved two additional credits for a total of 940,000 francs on October 24. The first credit, of 580,000 francs, aims to redevelop the schoolyard and its surroundings. The goal is to add greenery to combat heat islands. But also to create an outdoor auditorium and an educational garden in order to respond to new educational principles. “In any case, we had to invest at this level, given that the work linked to the facades had damaged the land,” specifies the president of the steering committee for the facade remediation project, Michel Robyr.
The second credit amounts to 360,000 francs. It is intended for the renovation of rooms occupied by administrative employees. This involves adding two offices for the director in the newly renovated building, but also soundproofing the existing offices. “The goal is to promote confidentiality in offices,” explains Michel Robyr.
Who pays?
Funding for these renovation projects is provided by school fees. “The latter are covered 65% by La Grande Béroche and 35% by Cortaillod. These rates are calculated in proportion to the number of students enrolled in the establishment,” explains the project manager.
The two municipalities, Gorgier and Grande Béroche, are part of the regional school circle Les Cerisiers, the entity which approved the two credits last October. A referendum deadline is provided for this type of project and its deadline is December 11. /yca
