It is now fixed: US Monnaie will face Lorient, a Ligue 2 team at the Georges-Boulogne stadium in Amboise. A real poster for the club from the north of Indre-et-Loire which plays in Regional 1, this meeting of 8e round of the Coupe de France against the Bretons, residents of Ligue 2, will be held on Saturday November 30 at 1:30 p.m.
This is what the official website of the French Football Federation has announced since Tuesday, November 19, two days after the historic qualification of Clément Perraguin and his teammates against FC Fief-Gesté (Departmental 2), Sunday, November 17. Information which was confirmed to us by SMS by the president of the Monnaie club, Stéphane Michaud.
The Georges-Boulogne stadium in Amboise can accommodate 2,500 spectators
For the moment, ticketing arrangements have not yet been given. The Amboise stadium, located on the Ile d'Or, can accommodate 2,500 spectators. It should be full for the occasion, Modena supporters hoping for the feat of their protégés against a solid Morbihan team, currently at the top of the Ligue 2 table and who were still playing in Ligue 1 last season.
The return of Pantaloni and Leroy to Touraine
The Merlus are now coached by Olivier Pantaloni… former Tours FC technician from the summer of 2013 to the fall of 2014. Two other former Ciel et Noir should also be traveling to Amboise: Benjamin Leroy, the goalkeeper who made his professional debut at TFC (from 2010 to 2014) and Pierre Bazin, the physical trainer who worked on Olivier Pantaloni's staff.
The three men will therefore not return to the Vallée du Cher stadium. The hypothesis of playing this 8e Tour of the Coupe de France had been envisaged, Monday November 18, by the Modena leaders. But ultimately she was not accepted.
Tours FC will welcome Cesson to the Cher Valley
Remember that the same weekend, Tours FC (Regional 1), also still in the running in the Coupe de France after having eliminated US Montagnarde, will welcome OC Cesson (National 3) to the Cher Valley. The date and time of this meeting have not yet been definitively set.
