The commune of Breuil has one more cultural association with a revealing name: Fleurmidables. This association was created on March 7, 2024, with of course the desire to combine the word flower and the adjective which describes the people who make it up, since Brigitte Denis, the president, said it during the inaugural evening on Tuesday evening: ” You are amazing ! “. The values of this new association are simpler: “We do things together, we have a passion for flowers and share friendship, we choose a common theme based on the flowers we find and buy. With these flowers we each create, we help each other, we even bring things from home or that we find in nature…” explained the president during the small presentation in the Daniel Marlot room. The 7 members of “Fleurmidables” met in a previous association, now dissolved, and wanted to continue the adventure around floral art. “After several meetings we decided to get started, without any money… We were very lucky here at Breuil. We have Chantal Cordelier and Léon Matuszynski who helped us a lot…”. The commune of Breuil in fact granted a subsidy to the association and the Department of Saône-et-Loire followed through through Évelyne Couillerot and Jean-Marc Hippolyte, the two departmental councilors of the canton, and granted a subsidy as part of the Local Community Assistance Fund. Of course Brigitte Denis sincerely thanked these communities represented in particular by Chantal Cordelier, mayor of Breuil and Jean-Marc Hippolyte. It was explained during the evening that “Fleurmidables” does not provide courses but brings together enthusiasts in creative workshops. “We do according to our ideas and we always manage to do cool things with nature’s flowers. Odile Thoumin (self-employed) supervised two workshops, we had a great time with her…”. The young association has some projects such as possibly introducing floral art to other people during training courses, for example. There was also talk of participating in certain local meetings organized around nature and culture.
