No deliberations yet in the Stéphane Haussoulier affair. This Tuesday, November 19, the Beauvais court (Oise) extended this deliberation to December 3, 2024.
On October 1, the prosecution requested a two-year suspended prison sentence, a fine of 60,000 euros, three years of ineligibility and professional activity related to the offense.
The trial had been moved to Beauvais in order to avoid any suspicion. Stéphane Haussoulier, close to President Macron, had pleaded conspiracy (by his predecessor Laurent Somon) and admitted negligence to request an acquittal.
Fraud, money laundering, breach of trust
The president of the Somme Department was responsible for fraud, money laundering and breach of trust. The prosecution put the amount of damage at 367,691 euros: expense reports given twice, or even three times, to be reimbursed: one ticket to the department, another to the town of Saint-Valery-sur-Somme, the third to the union of the Bay of Somme. There was also talk of travel costs to the water agency in Douai for meetings he did not attend. We were still planning trips to the south for family vacations but at the taxpayer's expense.
The second part concerned the regional federation of public works, of which, in a professional capacity, from 1999 to 2024, Stéphane Haussoulier was an employee: surprising expenses, large table in a three-Michelin star, strip club, high bills at a renowned Parisian pastry chef. The big part is these 280,486 euros drawn in cash between 2016 and 2023. What can we do with 40,000 euros per year, or 3,333 per month? “ It was an old practice, to pay for restaurants and various expenses. », Explained Mr. Haussoulier.
