THE works burying of the networks between the Places du 18-Juin and Place de la République and the bottom of Rue de Paris, in Gasny (Eure), are coming to an end.
On the Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle side up to the cemetery, things got complicated:
“This project is a little longer but should be finished in April. We encountered difficulties in placing the construction sleeves with the presence of tree roots. So we had to change sides. »
However, itth construction site will have little impact on the circulation.
Furthermore, he emphasizes that certain projects may take a little longer for reasons of grants.
Wait to obtain grants
“We try to keep up with the programming schedule of Headquarters (Eure Intermunicipal Electricity and Gas Union), because sometimes we have to wait to be able to subsidize the work up to 80%. If we want to move forward more quickly, the municipality's participation rate can be higher,” assures the mayor.
As for the work for the requalification of the town center, burying the networks is also necessary before starting the rest.
“We are no longer on the feasibility study since we now know that it is feasible but on the architectural study,” announced the first councilor.
A large-scale project in a tense context
The work will therefore have to begin on the Church Square.
The second phase was to focus on the development of the Chemin des Courtillets (which will connect the church to the Epte via a hiking path) but this stage will ultimately constitute the third phase of the project.
“We will concentrate the first two phases on the Place de l’Église and the Place du 18-June. Financially, we will be supported but perhaps the 3e phase will take more time to come to fruition,” emphasizes Pascal Jolly.
In fact, the construction site in the town center is starting at a time when communities are being asked to make savings. “Fortunately, the municipality’s biggest investments were made before this complicated economic context. If we had had to build the village hall in this situation, we would have been more worried,” confides the first councilor.
In the meantime, the mayor estimates that the work in the town center will end in 2027, as had been announced.
Traffic side
As previously indicated, the construction site on Avenue du Général-de-Gaulle will have little impact on traffic. As for the work in the town center, there are no plans to close any streets for the moment. “When we start the work, we will make sure not to hinder traffic in the town center. In any case, the construction site will take place in spaces where people do not normally move around. »
