On the very day of his 30th birthday, September 2, 2023, a Vannes resident was checked, near Vannes, driving at 136 km/h on the expressway where the speed is limited to 110 km/h. He was driving without a license, withdrawn since 2015, without insurance, without technical inspection and without having changed the registration document of his vehicle. His screening also determined that he had consumed cannabis and alcohol, the level of which was 0.64 g/l. A list of offenses which will cause him to appear this Wednesday before the Vannes court where he is a repeat offender, after having been convicted of similar offenses in November 2020.

“I had been given this car three months ago and I wanted to give it to my brother who had paid for the repairs. I had not taken the steps to transfer the registration document. For financial reasons, I had not taken my license again since it was withdrawn from me due to lack of points,” explains this landscaper. “From now on I have stopped all cannabis consumption. At that time, there was a lack of care in my home. I’m not at all proud of what I did but I have to take responsibility for my actions. »

Judgment under advisement

His lawyer specifies: “He has no excuse for his behavior. But he has changed and he has just had blood tests to prove that he has stopped all consumption, but the results were slow in coming and we cannot provide them this morning.”

For the prosecutor, “four months before these alleged acts, the defendant had already been the subject of a conviction. He took nothing into account, driving too fast and under the influence of both cannabis and alcohol. With this cocktail, his behavior is dangerous. » And to ask for a two-year prison sentence, half of which with a probationary suspension, the cancellation of his license, the confiscation of the car and €800 fines for the infractions. »

The Vannes court decided to wait for the results of the blood tests to be provided before giving its judgment. This will be returned on Wednesday July 3.
