The services of the Tarn departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS) and the SMUR intervened on Tuesday June 25 afternoon on a tractor accident in the town of Saint-Benoît-de-Carmaux chemin de Cureyes. A 64-year-old man was in cardio-respiratory arrest when emergency services arrived and was pronounced dead. The tragedy occurred, according to information given by the emergency services, while the driver of the tractor was carrying out agricultural work in a very steep field, which could explain the overturning of the machine.
Second death while driving a tractor in a week
This intervention mobilized firefighters from Carmaux and Albi as well as the national police from Carmaux. This is the second accident involving agricultural machinery in a few days. On June 19, in the town of Labruguière, a 41-year-old man lost his life when his tractor left the road and fell into a ravine.
