Akhannouch to medical students: “You have a responsibility towards society”

During an informal meeting as part of the “Citizen Café” initiative, the Head of Government responded to questions from a young medical student, particularly regarding the tension in the faculties.

Aziz Akhannouch begins by specifying that the medical sector is of prime importance for Morocco, which has just begun a profound reform of the sector. “The country needs you and if you are, today, medical students, tomorrow you will be our doctors and the doctors of our children. In fact, when you are a doctor, you put yourself at the service of your country, of your society,” emphasizes the Head of Government.

“We are counting on you and our objective is that you are well trained, that you continue your studies so that you can subsequently, depending on your choices, join public hospitals or go to work in the private sector.”

That said, “the government remains open and positive about students’ expectations. Moreover, we responded positively to all the demands expressed. Now, because we cannot postpone the exams indefinitely, it has been decided to keep them on the agreed date. That said, insists the Chief Executive: “if there are parties who have other ulterior designs, let them go and carry them out elsewhere and let the students go about their studies.”
