According to information revealed by our colleagues from the Dépêche du Midi, an investigation by the Toulouse police made it possible to dismantle a jewelry theft network whose members are suspected of carrying out burglaries in homes in Haute-Garonne, Gers , Lot-et-Garonne and even into Aude.
The information was revealed this Monday, November 18 by our colleagues at Dépêche du Midi. Toulouse police officers arrested seven individuals suspected of theft and attempted theft in homes located in the departments of Haute-Garonne, Gers, Lot-et-Garonne and even in Aude.
Originally from Italy, aged between 16 and 30, the suspects are, according to the Dépêche du Midi, specialized in burglaries with a particular appetite for jewelry and cash. If the investigators, during the searches, did not get their hands on any jewelry, they did seize various items of clothing that the suspected thieves could have worn during the heists. In total, 28 thefts or attempted thefts took place between September and November 13.
During their hearings, the suspects denied any participation in these thefts. This Friday, November 15, the Toulouse public prosecutor's office opened a judicial investigation to “organized gang thefts and attempted thefts”. The seven suspects were indicted and incarcerated.
